There is a lot of excitement buzzing around Samsung's latest Smart-phone release, the Galaxy S10 that comes with its own digital wallet. While the announcement brings us one step closer to public user adoption of blockchain, cryptos and digital wallets, it's important to keep a few things in mind.
If you're itching to get your hands on the new Galaxy S10, I don't blame you. Aside from its intelligent performance and Dynamic AMOLED display which boasts "vivid digital content, and with dynamic tone mapping,"smartphones are taken up a notch with Samsung's new crypto-phone. Not only can you download your very own digital mobile wallet but you can send and receive payments, stash your Ethereum or Enjin coins and store your private keys, all on your new chic phone. Galaxy S10 phone users can download the wallet from the Samsung Galaxy Store.
Samsung is assuring top-tier security for both the hardware and software that comes with the S10, using their Samsung Knox "Government-grade protection" platform. This should all be more than enough to make you click that enticing "Upgrade" button.
If I may make a suggestion, once you are a happy S10 owner, come back and read this article because in the midst of your excitement, you will have already forgotten about little old me. The reason I say this is because of an annoying little nagging voice in our heads going: "Wait how can I take the extra steps of protecting my private keys and all my money?" Easy: get on the cold wallet bus and keep your stuffs S-E-C-U-R-E. Backup, backup, backup and please don't backup online. Make it a point to generate private keys offline.
So now you won't have to worry if your phone gets lost, stolen, or clumsily dropped to the bottom of that scenic lake you've been taking pics of with your new ultra-HD camera.
